Master Class V Competency Based Course

By admin on July 18th, 2006

If you haven’t already heard, here’s some exciting news.  Brisbane North Institute of TAFE is running a competency based training pilot program (a first of its kind in Australia in the maritime sector).  If you or your crew are interested in gaining this qualification in a training environment that will afford you the opportunity to acquire and apply skills in various marine settings then this course is for you.

Even if you personally are not interested you may know someone who would be and if this is the case it would be appreciated if you could inform them of this great opportunity that it will assist them to fastrack their
qualification and reduce sea time requirements that normally apply to this licence.

The pilot program represents a partnership between Maritime Safety Training, the Department of Employment & Training and most importantly industry (your peers) to prepare a training program that has the potential to improve the quality of training outcomes in the marine sector.  All we need now to make it a success is industry participation!
